Graduated Westbrook College, Portland, Maine in 1989 with an Associates Degree in Science with a Dental Hygiene major. Background in General and Pediatric Offices. Has worked with Dr. Burns since 1997.
CPR Certified. Periodontal Laser For RDH Applications 2001 Certified. ADHA Member. Office CDC/OSHA/OSAP Coordinator

Continuing Education on Topics Including: Periodontal Disease and Non-Surgical Treatment, Periodontal Disease/Systemic Disease Relationship, Pharmacology, Oral Pathology, Oral Cancer Detection, Oral Manifestations of Infectious Disease, Oral Complications and Management of Patients Compromised by Local and Systemic Cancer Therapies, OSHA & CDC Protocols, Digital Radiography, and Ortho/Invisalign.

Dianne, Dental Assistant

Joined Dr. Burns in July 2006

Dianne spent almost 10 years as an active duty member of the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1992. Upon her husbands retirement from the Air Force in 2000 they moved to Connecticut. Joseph Shinn DDS decided to take a chance on “hiring a vet” and under his skillful guidance Dianne began learning the skills necessary to become a dental assistant. In 2001, Dianne was hired by Dr. Harold Kadish. With the help of the head assistant, Annie Hupper, and hygienist Lynn Benevides, she was able to continue her education. Dianne joined Dr. Burns in February 2004 as front desk/dental assistant. In July 2006 she became Dr. Burn’s full time assistant. Dianne has one son and in her spare time she is an active member of Vernon’s Community Emergency Response Team.
