Root Canal

What is it?

Root canal therapy is a procedure to save a tooth with a diseased nerve.

How is it done?

Inside each tooth is the pulp, which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies and can lead to infection and tooth loss. During root canal therapy, the dentist removes the pulp, cleans and seals the root canal, then places a crown over the tooth.
